respiratory medicine has been established since the onset of our institution and is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patient with a wide range of respiratory diseases. Presently the department comprises a team of 16 doctors (03 Consultants, 02 Senior residents and 11 Post graduate residents) and support staff.<\/p><p>The department has 05 MCI recognized MD Respiratory Medicine seats. Utilizing advance technology, our department offers services including pulmonary function testing like spirometry, diffusion study, FeNO (Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide), Impulse Oscillometry, CPET (Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing), fibrooptic bronchoscopy (bronchoscopic guided biopsy, broncho-alveolar lavage, bronchial brush, Thoracoscopy, Polysomnography (Sleep Study), ABG (Arterial Blood Gas analysis) and EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound) and ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Cryotherapy, an evolving therapeutic and diagnostic tools used during bronchoscopy is the new addition armamentarium of our department.<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\" align=\"justify\">The department also has expertise in using USG in Respiratory medicine, ICU Care including, Non Invasive and Invasive mechanical ventilation and various invasive procedures for the critically ill patients. In addition to patient care, the Respiratory Medicine Department is actively engaged in cutting-edge research aimed at improving the understanding and treatment of respiratory diseases.<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\" align=\"justify\">Respiratory &amp; Critical Care Medicine conferences have been organised every alternate year. Since 2012 department has organized 11 conferences, &gt;20 CME's and &gt;10 online webcasts. The department also conducted successful conferences like 2nd World Conference Comprehensive Critical Care (W4C), 10th UP-UK ISCCM State Chapter and SRMS Pulmocrit-2 in the past year. In the department various thesis &amp; research projects are being carried out every year with publications in National and International journals for continuous knowledge upgradation.<\/p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\" align=\"justify\">Residents of Respiratory Medicine department have achieved good ranks in NEET super speciality in their first attempt. Asthma and Allergy clinic, COPD clinic, smoking cessation &amp; Pulmonary Rehabilitation clinic are operable since start and the department is planning to initiate MDR\/XDR-TB Clinic. The department is also running DOTS Centre since April, 2006 with great success. The department is also running DOTS Centre since April, 2006 with great success. In year 2008 we organised highly successful and much appreciated 1st pulmonary and critical care update, and in year 2010 we organized 1st ever UP- Uttarakhand State Chapter Conference of Indian Society of critical care medicine (ISCCM) at Nainital. The faculty of the department have contributed various academic articles to journals conference books, and collage magazine. Our faculty have delivered lectures in national conferences and attended various national and international pulmonary\/ critical care conferences as speakers, faculty or delegates. pulmonary and critical care.
