Learning Beyond the Classroom; SRMS MBBS Students Get Real-Time Exposure to Emergency Response from India\u2019s Elite Disaster Force<\/em><\/p>\n

What happens when medical knowledge meets real-world crisis training? Future doctors rise stronger. SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly<\/strong> recently hosted a high-impact Disaster Management Awareness Programme<\/strong> led by the 8TH<\/sup> Battalion<\/strong> of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Ghaziabad<\/strong>. The session turned into a gripping, hands-on experience for the MBBS Batch of 2022,<\/strong> who learned what it truly takes to respond to natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, and cyclones.<\/p>\n

Led by Captain Sanjay Singh Rawat<\/strong> and Sub-Inspector Pankaj Joshi<\/strong>, the NDRF team, comprising trained army personnel, demonstrated real-life rescue and rehabilitation operations, including CPR, evacuation procedures, handling fire emergencies, and administering first aid. These live simulations bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and ground-level reality, making a lasting impact on the young medicos.<\/p>\n

The programme was addressed by Dr MS Butola, Principal, IMS<\/strong>, alongside faculty and hospital staff, who collectively lauded the relevance of such training for today\u2019s medical professionals. Dr Butola stressed how medical care doesn\u2019t begin at the hospital door; it often begins in the heart of a crisis. However, this initiative by the NDRF didn\u2019t just inform; it empowered. It reminded students that a doctor\u2019s duty extends far beyond the ward, to every place where lives hang in the balance.<\/p>\n
