Established in 1999, the Department of Information Technology at Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology stands as a hub of academic excellence and industry-oriented learning. Following the moto of SRMS Trust “सिद्धि र्भवति कर्मजा”, a Sanskrit phrase that translates to “Success is achieved through effort”, is the guiding principle of the Department of Information Technology to emphasize that hard work and dedicated action lead to success.

Here, at Department of Information Technology, our curriculum focuses on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), so our teaching pedagogy goes beyond conventional classroom instructions and relies heavily on imparting practical knowledge to the students. We emphasize practical learning and real-world problem-solving through a blend of expert sessions, intuitive teaching methods and industry aligned projects.

Our differentiators are rigorous competitive exam preparation and focused hackathon training infused into the academic structure. We try to cultivate theoretical depth and agile coding skills into our students to make them ready for Industry 4.0. Our students regularly participate in national and international hackathons and carve a niche for themselves wherever they venture.
