Due to rapid technological advancements, change at a very fast pace is being noticed in all facets of life. The educational institutions engaged in professional domains like Engineering, Management, Computer Application and Pharmacy are facing a challenge to bridge the industry academia gap. Over the period of time, the accessibility of abundant information through various online sources has increased drastically which has adversely impacted the students’ attendance in classrooms. Therefore some innovative approaches which can ensure the industry readiness of budding graduates by adding a personal connect between the students and mentors through which they can be guided and inspired for better career path.

Hand Holding Initiative: The Idea

Valuing the idea “Collaboration allows us to know more than we are capable of knowing by ourselves”, “Hand Holding Initiative” in teaching pedagogy refers to providing extensive guidance and support to learners, especially when they are new to a subject or task. It is an attempt to create structured and purposeful connections between students of professional programs, their seniors, alumni, and teachers so as to foster a collaborative learning environment that supports student growth and success.

The initiative is practiced at SRMS CET as a complementary innovative learning pedagogy to ensure real time guidance and inspiration to the budding graduates by integrating them with their seniors, alumni and faculty members. The stream specific group under this initiative is created as follows:
