SPREADING AWARENESS, ENSURING SAFETY: SRMS MEDICAL & PARAMEDICAL STUDENTS HIGHLIGHT ADR REPORTING at PHARMACOVIGILANCE WEEK

The Department of Pharmacology at SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly in collaboration with SRMS Institute of Paramedical Sciences (IPS), Bareilly observed 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week with a Chart Display activity on the importance of pharmacovigilance in clinical practice, Drug Safety Monitoring & Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) Reporting.

Organized by ADR Monitoring Centre at IMS under the aegis of Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), IPC, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, Ghaziabad, the event was held under the guidance of Dr Meenakshi Jindal (Professor & Head, Pharmacology & AMC Coordinator) & Dr Jasbir Singh (Deputy Coordinator, Pharmacovigilance Committee).  Medical & paramedical students showcased charts on ADRs such as giddiness, depression, thyroid disorders, nausea, and vomiting, emphasizing timely detection and reporting as cornerstones of pharmacovigilance for patient safety and rational drug use.

The event was graced by Dr MS Butola (Principal IMS); Dr Vandana Negi (Professor & Head, Department of Paediatrics); Dr Shashi Bala Arya (Professor & Head, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology); Dr Bindu Garg (Dean UG); Dr Jaspreet Kaur (Principal IPS) & others.
