The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology at SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET) took learning off-campus and into the real world with a Startup & Entrepreneurship Trip to Bhimtal, Nainital (Uttarakhand), where nature meets next-gen innovation.

Accompanied by Hiresh Gupta (CS), Fardeen Ahmad Khan (IT), and Shobha Bharti (CS), our students explored how ideas turn into impactful enterprises, beyond lectures and labs. During the industrial visit, the group explored several innovative ventures established in the Bhimtal region, including:

• Maruti Overseas Ltd, founded by SRMS CET alumni Dr Sachin Agarwal & Dr Rateesh Agarwal, this organic bee farm showcased sustainable honey extraction, wax refinement, and eco-friendly production at its best.
• Kumaun Glaciera Mineral Water Plant gave a deep dive into advanced purification and germ-free bottling processes preserving the purity of mountain water.
• Naini Flora, a home to Granova Smart Grains, where automation and agri-innovation are redefining the future of food production. Since learning feels better with a view, the serene Bhimtal Lake added a refreshing pause to this inspiring journey.
