IDEAS TAKE FLIGHT: SRMS ENGINEERING STUDENTS CELEBRATE WORLD ENTREPRENEURS’ DAY WITH STARTUP CHALLENGE!

What better way to celebrate World Entrepreneurs Day than stepping into the shoes of startup founders? That’s exactly what students at SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly did, as the Department of Information Technology, guided by the Institution Innovation Council (IIC), hosted an inspiring Startup Journey Presentation Competition.

With the spirit of Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth), the event saw 18 enthusiastic teams from various departments dive into the success stories of disruptive startups like Zepto, Phool.co, Snowberry, Tata 1mg, and more. From business models to roadblocks, every presentation reflected research, clarity, and fresh entrepreneurial thinking, proving that innovation begins in the classroom.

Er Ashish Agrawal, Convener, IIC, set the tone with a welcome address highlighting why entrepreneurial learning is no longer optional, but essential. The jury then grilled participants with tough but insightful questions, testing not just knowledge but confidence, clarity, and creativity. However, the competition ended on a high with a prize distribution ceremony where Er Subhash Mehra, Trust Advisor, honored the winners.

  • Team Synergy (Riya Rastogi & Siddhi Gupta) First Prize (₹1500)
  • Team Innoventures (Vedanshi Singh & Khushi Rastogi) – Second Prize (₹1000)
  • Team Mini Explorer (Shweta Yadav & Ishika Gangwar) – Third Prize (₹500)
  • Team Ground Hunt (Ansh Mehrotra & Vansh Khanna) – Consolation Prize

The jury panel featured Dr Ritu Singh (Vice Principal, CET); Er Juhi Chaudhary (CSE); Dr Nazia Parveen (ECE); Dr Saurabh Gupta (DSW) & Er Ashish Agrawal, while Pooja Mishra closed the session with a heartfelt vote of thanks.
