INDIA: A RISING GIANT—SEMINAR AT SRMS ENGINEERING COLLEGE CELEBRATES 79 YEARS OF PROGRESS

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) at SRMS College of Engineering and Technology (CET), Bareilly, in association with Robotrax Club & Institution Innovation Council (IIC), hosted an inspiring seminar titled “India: A Rising Giant.” Organized to mark 79 years of independence, the seminar paid heartfelt homage to the great souls whose sacrifices gifted us freedom while celebrating India’s unstoppable progress.
The session opened with Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Principal, CET, tracing India’s incredible transformation from a nascent nation to a modern, self-reliant powerhouse. Adding depth to the discourse, Dr Sovan Mohanty, Head, ECE, emphasized the vision of a “New India”, a nation that blends ancient wisdom with cutting-edge intelligence, autonomy, and moral agency. “From space exploration to digital transformation, India is not just participating in the future, it is helping shape it,” he remarked.
Students of B Tech (EC), Batch 2024, further enriched the dialogue with thought-provoking presentations. Vinayak Deval & Abhay Singh Rathore examined the industrial revolution shaping modern India, while Akshansh Agarwal & Mohd Subhan shed light on the timeless value system of ancient India. Sapna & Viraj explored India’s deep integration with eastern philosophy, and Anshika & Bhumi discussed its growing economic contribution to the world. Rounding off the session, Maiher & Sipra highlighted the country’s security landscape with an insightful presentation on Operation Sindoor.
The seminar concluded with recognition for the most impactful presentations. Akshansh Agarwal & Mohd Subhan were awarded Gold Medal, Vinayak Deval & Abhay Singh won Silver, while Maiher & Sipra secured the Bronze. The event was seamlessly coordinated by Assistant Professors Er Sumbul and Er Nipun Pandey.
