LAUNCHPAD or TRAP? SRMS WOMEN PUT SOCIAL MEDIA ON TRIAL THIS WOMEN’S DAY!
On International Women’s Day 2026, the Women Cell of SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly, in association with Institute Innovation Council (IIC), break the filter and turned the spotlight on one of the most relevant conversations of our time: Is social media a launchpad for women, or a trap dressed up in filters?
Under the program theme “Give to Gain”, the Debate Competition on “Social Media: Empowering or Exploiting Women?” brought female students and faculty to the floor, not just to argue, but to think. Both sides were represented with sharp arguments, real conviction, and the kind of clarity that only comes when a topic actually hits close to home.
Because let’s be honest, this wasn’t just a debate exercise. It was a mirror held up to the digital world we all live in every single day. Coordinated by Dr Mani Gupta (Faculty Coordinator) and Yamini Budhalakati (Tyro Treasurer), the event celebrated not just the winners each one who chose to speak up, stand firm, and make their voice count.
