SRMS ENGINEERING STUDENTS DIVE INTO REAL-WORLD MACHINE LEARNING AT IMMERSIVE WORKSHOP

Unlocking the potential of future-ready tech skills, SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly recently hosted a dynamic, week-long hands-on workshop titled ‘Machine Learning with Real-Life Applications.’ Organized under the banner of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), the workshop drew participation from around 50 third-year BTech students (CS/IT streams) from SRMS CET and SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CETR).
Led by Brijesh Mishra, an expert trainer from Softpro Computer Technologies, Lucknow, the sessions offered students practical exposure to key machine learning concepts—including Supervised and Unsupervised Learning, Support Vector Machines, and Linear/Nonlinear Regression. Complex algorithms were demystified through real-life case studies and interactive demos.
With its strong focus on application-based learning, the workshop encouraged students to move beyond theoretical understanding to hands-on implementation. Participants explored how machine learning can be used to solve real-world problems and even began conceptualizing their own ML-based projects—effectively narrowing the gap between classroom concepts and industry expectations.
