SRMS ENGINEERING COLLEGE CHAMPIONS VISION OF NEP 2020 WITH KNOWLEDGE-RICH SEMINAR ON FUTURE OF HIGHER EDUCATION

As the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 marks five transformative years, SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly took a progressive step forward by hosting a thought-provoking seminar titled ‘NEP 2020: Its Role in Higher Education in India’. Organized in collaboration with Pharmquimica Club under the aegis of IIC-CET, the event saw active participation of 31 B Pharm students & faculty.
The seminar offered valuable insights into NEP 2020’s core pillars-Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability, and Accountability, while exploring how these principles can reshape the future of Indian higher education. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Principal, CET, who highlighted the significance of institutional realignment with NEP goals. This was followed by an address from Dr Amit Kumar Sharma, Dean, Pharmacy, who stressed the policy’s emphasis on future-ready, inclusive, and multidisciplinary learning.
Also gracing the event were Dr Ritu Singh (Vice Principal), Dr Nita Yadav (Academic Coordinator), Dr Saurabh Gupta (DSW), and Ashish Agrawal (Convener, IIC), along with several other dignitaries.
The keynote session, delivered by Assistant Professors Divya Sharma and Esmiriti Maurya, together with B Pharm first-year students Parnika Aggarwal, Kashaf Khan, Abhi Gupta, and Bhanupriya Shakya, focused on key NEP themes including Pedagogical and Assessment Reforms, Language and Inclusion Policies, Higher Education Expansion & Teacher Training and Empowerment.
The seminar also featured a vibrant Panel Discussion, bringing together students and faculty in engaging discourse around Multidisciplinary Education Models, Flexible Curriculum Structures, Holistic & Skill-Based Learning Approaches, and Integration of Technology & Digital Tools in Classrooms. An open-floor Q & A session allowed attendees to raise pertinent questions and reflect on their role in this academic transformation.
