WHEN CONVERSATIONS MATTER: SRMS ENGINEERING COLLEGE OPENS THE FLOOR ON REAL CHALLENGES WOMEN FACE
Some sessions don’t just inform, they stay with you…
At SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), hosted a deeply engaging guest lecture on “Challenges Faced by Women in the Modern World.”
The session was led by Ruchie Sah, Assistant Professor, Department of Basic Sciences, SRMS College of Engineering, Technology & Research (CETR), who brought honesty, clarity, and real perspective into the room.
Graced by the presence of Dr Prabhakar Gupta (Principal, CET), Dr Ritu Singh (Vice Principal, CET & Event Coordinator), Dr Saurabh Gupta (DSW, CET) and Dipali Gupta (Deputy DSW, CET), the session saw active participation from around 190 attendees. From gender equity and societal expectations to workplace realities like the glass ceiling, pay gaps, and work-life balance, the discussion didn’t shy away from the uncomfortable truths. It also touched upon mental health, imposter syndrome, and the importance of building confidence in spaces that often feel unequal.
The highlight? An open, honest Q&A where students spoke, questioned, and reflected on online safety, leadership, and how each one of us can be a better ally. With real stories, relatable examples, and meaningful dialogue, the session wasn’t just another lecture, it was a conversation that sparked awareness, empathy, and the intent to bring change.
