Breastfeeding is more than a mother’s choice; it’s a collective responsibility

From August 1–7, 2025, SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly will mark World Breastfeeding Week with a heartfelt mission, to support mothers, spark awareness, and build a future where every baby receives the healthiest start to life.

Spearheaded by the Department of Pediatrics & Neonatology, this initiative echoes the global theme by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) — “Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems”.

This week, SRMS IMS will turn the spotlight on the life-saving benefits of breastfeeding; the need for supportive workplaces & healthcare spaces; the role families and communities play in empowering new mothers, along with awareness sessions, outreach drives, expert talks & interactive events

Because a well-fed baby begins with a well-supported mother! So, let’s change the narrative, break the myths, and stand by every mother; not just this week, but every single day!
