The department of Pharmacology established in 2005. It is an active department of SRMS IMS, Bareilly. Pharmacology is the sciences, that deals with drugs and there effects on patients. It is a crucial branch that deals with the safety of the patients and rational prescription of the drugs. The aim of the department is to provide excellence and integrity in teaching and research. The department is highly committed in teaching basic and applied pharmacology. We provide a learning environment to the students that embrace diversity, equity and respect.
Our mission is to acquire recent knowledge in phamacology and promote rational use of medicine. Our priority is patient safety, for this department is registered in Phamacovigilance programe of India (PVPI), IPC Ghaziabad. We have a registered AMC centre (Adverse Monitoring Centre) where Adverse drug reactions are collected and sent to PVPI through Vigiflow. Department is also actively involved in Medical auditing like Prescription auditing and Antibiotic Auditing.
Medical Audit - helps students to have proper knowledge about writing a prescription, having proper knowledge about rationality of prescribing a given drug or a combination since January 2016.
Experimental pharmacology laboratory has been converted to Computer Assisted Learning Lab (CAL Lab) - all experiments are now computer simulated since August 2015.
Pharmacy duty of Postgraduates - to ensure proper and correct dispensing of drugs which sound alike and look alike since January 2016.
