MAKING WAVES FOR A BETTER TOMORROW: SRMS ENGINEERING COLLEGE SPARKS CREATIVITY ON WORLD OCEAN DAY

In a unique tribute to World Ocean Day, SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly turned awareness into action with an innovative PowerPoint Design Contest focused on ocean conservation.
Rooted in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water, the contest embraced the theme “Our Ocean: Challenges and Solutions” to inspire students to think critically and creatively about the pressing threats facing our oceans—ranging from pollution and overfishing to climate change and ecosystem loss.
Students from various SRMS Institutions including SRMS CET, SRMS College of Engineering Technology &Research (CETR), SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences, and SRMS College of Nursing dived deep into research, designing compelling presentations that combined impactful visuals, ocean-inspired design elements, and practical, data-backed solutions.
Akhil Saxena & Manas Dam (CET) secured the first prize, followed by Sonar Prathmesh & Stuti Pant (IMS) and Sindhuja Trivedi & Monika Singh (Nursing) at second and third positions respectively. Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Principal CET, felicitated the winners, commending their efforts in blending creativity with conservation, in the presence ofDr Saurabh Gupta, DSW &Dr Deepanshi, Team Student Welfare& several others.
