200+ PARTICIPANTS, ONE PURPOSE: KEEPING PHARMACOLOGY PRACTICE EVIDENCE-BASED

The Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (SRMS IMS), Bareilly, successfully hosted a webinar recently on “Updates in Practicing Pharmacology” bringing together 200+ participants from across India and beyond.

Held under the guidance of Dr Meenakshi Jindal, Head, Department of Pharmacology, the webinar featured insightful sessions by Resource Faculty including Dr DD Gupta, Ex-Prof & HOD IGMC, Shimla, Ex Pro-Chancellor-KM Univeristy Mathura & Director-Sudha Medical College Kota, on Polypharmacy; Dr HS Rehan, Director-Professor Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, Department of Pharmacology on Me-Too Drugs; Dr Prem Prakash Khosla, Ret. Professor & Ex Prof & Head-Gian Sagar Medical College, Patiala, Department of Pharmacology on Generic vs Branded Drugs, and Dr RK Dixit, Prof & Head-KGMU Lucknow, Department of Pharmacology, Co-convener of ACME and Coordinator of Masters in Health Professional Education as well as Member-Department of Medical Education on Counterfeit Medicines.

The sessions highlighted the importance of rational, safe and evidence-based medicine use while addressing key challenges in contemporary clinical practice. With participation from students, postgraduate trainees, faculty and healthcare professionals, the webinar reflected the growing need for continuous learning and meaningful academic exchange in medicine.
