COURT MARSHALL STEALS THE SHOW AT SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES’ EYE DONATION FORTNIGHT 2025

The 40th National & 24th SRMS Eye Bank Cornea Donation Awareness Fortnight concluded at SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly with a dynamic Grand Case-Presentation contest, “Court Marshall”. This year’s drive inspired many new pledges, reinforcing the noble message of the Gift of Sight.

Organized by Department of Ophthalmology with the Cornea Transplant Centre & Eye Bank, the courtroom-style event let junior and senior residents present cases before an expert jury. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman SRMS Trust, and Aditya Murti, Director Administration, in the presence of Dr MS Butola, Principal IMS; Dr RP Singh, MS; Dr Rohit Sharma, Dean PG; Dr Piyush Agarwal, Director, RR Cancer Institute, among others It was anchored by Dr Neelima Mehrotra, Professor & Head, Ophthalmology with a special session on corneal donation by Professor Dr Shipra Tripathi.

The event saw four spirited teams, Avengers, Fantastic4, Guardians of the Galaxy & X-Men that battled it out with sharp 4-minute case presentations with cross-questions from the jury and mentors. Team Fantastic, mentored by Dr Anil Negi, Dr Sanjay Gupta, and Dr Harshit Agarwal, emerged champions, felicitated by Shri Dev Murti.

The fortnight also featured eye donation awareness camps in Pahaladpur, Amberpur, and Naun Nangla, along with Family Adoption Screening Camps and school outreach programmes educating children on corneal donation. Posters, banners, and danglers across the campus reinforced the cause, making the observance both impactful and inspiring.
