SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES HOSTS ‘IAS ONE BAREILLY’: NATIONAL EXPERTS SHOWCASE LATEST ADVANCES IN KNEE ARTHROSCOPY

The Department of Orthopedics at SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly, brought together leading orthopedic minds from across India at the National-Level Advanced Knee Arthroscopy Course ‘IAS ONE Bareilly’. Held under the aegis of the Indian Arthroscopy Society (IAS) & powered by Biotek, the event spotlighted groundbreaking innovations in knee ligament assessment, surgical techniques & rehabilitation.

The prestigious course was inaugurated by Shri Dev Murti, Chairman, SRMS Trust, and Guest of Honor Dr Rajeev Raman, IAS ONE Convener from Kolkata, alongside Dr MS Butola (Principal, IMS), Dr Vinod Pagrani (Orthopedic Surgeon, Khushlok Hospital) & Organizing Secretary Dr Apser Khan (Professor, Orthopedics, IMS).

In his welcome address, Organizing Chairman, Professor Dr Sanjay Gupta, HOD, Orthopedics Department, set the stage for an intensive learning experience. The academic sessions began with Dr Neeraj Prajapati (IMS) discussing radiological tools in diagnosing ligament injuries such as ACL, PCL, PLC, and collateral tears. Dr Rohil Mehta (Director & Consultant at City Hospital, Lucknow) elaborated on graft selection, fixation techniques & rehabilitation protocols, followed by Dr Ashish Kumar Srivastava’s talk on managing complications in ACL reconstruction.

Highlighting advanced surgical techniques, Dr Rajeev Raman presented insights on LET, ALL & High Tibial Osteotomy (HTO), along with complex procedures like PLC & Root Repairs. National faculty members Dr Vineet Jain & Dr Dhananjay Shabat enriched the sessions with live surgical videos and detailed presentations on malalignment correction, PCL avulsion repair & ramp lesion management.

Further sessions by experts Dr Sameer R. Verma & Dr Puneet Agarwal delved into specialized knee repair strategies. The knowledge-sharing conference concluded with a high-level panel discussion on multiligamentous knee injuries, followed by a hands-on meniscus repair workshop.
