FROM SRMS TO IISc BENGALURU: WHEN CLASSROOM LEARNING TRANSFORMS INTO NATION-BUILDING RESEARCH
At a time when students aspire for careers that go beyond conventional boundaries, success stories rooted in research, innovation, and real-world impact stand out the most. One such inspiring journey is that of Chahak Agarwal, a student of the B Pharm 2022 Batch at SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly, who is currently serving as a Research Intern at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, India’s premier institution for advanced scientific research and innovation.
Working under the guidance of Dr BS Rajnikanth, Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IISc Bengaluru, and Prof (Dr) Amit Kumar Sharma, Director, Department of Pharmacy, SRMS CET, Bareilly, Chahak is contributing to cutting-edge research at the High Voltage Engineering (HVE) – IAC Lab. Her project focuses on Plasma Applications for enhancing seed germination rates and improving metabolite concentration, an emerging area of research with immense potential in agriculture, sustainability, and future technologies. Her strong academic fundamentals at SRMS have helped her secure an opportunity at one of the country’s most respected research institutions.
She attributes this milestone to the continuous guidance, encouragement, and research-oriented environment provided by Dr Amit Kumar Sharma and the Department of Pharmacy at SRMS, which helped her, develop the confidence and skills required to pursue advanced interdisciplinary research at a national level.
As admission season gathers momentum, Chahak’s achievement sends a powerful message to aspiring students and parents alike, SRMS is not just preparing students for jobs; it is preparing them for opportunities, innovation, research, and leadership.
