CHIPS, CIRCUITS & CAREERS: SRMS ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING TAKES THE SEMICONDUCTOR LEAP TOWARDS INDIA’S TECH FUTURE
As India accelerates its ambitions to become a global semiconductor powerhouse, SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly is ensuring its students stay ahead of the curve. In a significant industry-academia initiative, the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) at SRMS CET visited National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Pilibhit to deepen engagement with emerging technologies and explore opportunities in the rapidly growing semiconductor ecosystem.
Led by Dr Sovan Mohanty (HOD, ECE Department) and Dr Avtar Singh (Associate Professor), the visit featured an insightful session on “Advanced Chip Design and Career Opportunities,” covering India’s Semiconductor Mission (ISM), VLSI Design, chip manufacturing, and the vast avenues emerging in research, innovation, higher education, and employment.
The faculty also explored NIELIT Pilibhit’s cutting-edge facilities, including the Industry 4.0 & IoT Lab, SCADA systems, robotic arms, industrial sensors, Android and Raspberry Pi platforms, and advanced electronic development kits, gaining valuable insights into the technologies shaping the future. The initiative received wider recognition when it was shared on his official Twitter (X) account by Jitin Prasada, (Minister of State in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology). Coordinated by Ravi Rastogi (Deputy Director) and Naveen Agarwal (Administrator In-Charge), NIELIT Pilibhit, the visit also included discussions on an upcoming MoU between SRMS CET and NIELIT Pilibhit to promote collaborative research, skill-development programmes, academic exchanges, and industry-oriented projects.
