Through our flagship column #KnowYourFaculty, SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly proudly introduces Professor (Dr) Ritu Singh, Vice Principal and Head, Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities, a respected academic leader whose dedication to teaching, mentorship, and academic excellence has helped shape countless student success stories.

A distinguished scholar, Dr Ritu Singh holds a PhD in Physical Chemistry, along with M.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry from Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University. Her doctoral research on “Kinetics of Micelle Catalyzed Oxidation of Toluidine” and Master’s project on “Effect of Solvent on Fibrous Proteins” reflect her deep-rooted passion for scientific exploration and research.

For more than a decade as Head of Department, she has played a pivotal role in strengthening academic standards while nurturing a culture of scientific curiosity, analytical thinking, and research-oriented learning. Her contribution extends well beyond academics, having successfully served in key leadership roles including Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW), Chief Proctor, Assistant Centre Superintendent (ACS), and Centre Superintendent (CS).

What truly sets Dr Ritu apart is her ability to make learning meaningful. Known for her student-first approach, sharp analytical mindset, and exceptional mentorship, she encourages students to look at challenges not as obstacles, but as opportunities to learn, innovate, and grow.
