ENGINEERING THE FUTURE STARTS WITH QUESTIONING THE PRESENT: SRMS ENGINEERING COLLEGE ORGANIZES ‘THE 3D DISCOURSE: SIDDHANT’ DEBATE COMPETITION
Some of the most powerful innovations begin with a simple question, “What if?” And every great answer begins with a meaningful debate. Well, to nurture critical thinking and confident leadership, the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, SRMS College of Engineering & Technology (CET), Bareilly, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized “The 3D Discourse: Siddhant”, a two-day debate competition held in two engaging phases: Siddhant I & Siddhant II.
Students took on thought-provoking topics ranging from AI and the future of jobs, India’s semiconductor ambitions, government access to encrypted messages, hard work v/s luck, petrol v/s electric vehicles, the role of engineers in nation-building, to whether Gen Z is ready to lead tomorrow’s India.
From compelling arguments in the preliminary round to intense rebuttals in the semifinals and finals, participants showcased confidence, research, logical reasoning and the ability to look beyond the obvious.
