400+ JOIN THE YOGA MOVEMENT: SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY WITH ENERGY, INTENTION & UNITY
SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly came alive with breath, balance, and mindfulness as over 400 students, medicos, and faculty gathered in solidarity to celebrate International Yoga Day today (June 21)—not just as an event, but as a movement towards a healthier, more centered life.
Guided by this year’s global mantra ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, and echoing the spirit of the Ministry of Ayush’s Yoga Sangam initiative, the morning unfolded with powerful Surya Namaskars, calming meditation, and a spirited Yoga Marathon.
What made this celebration truly energizing was the participation of MBBS students from various batches, interns, PGs, and teaching staff—all joining forces to embrace yoga’s promise of physical strength, emotional resilience, and inner calm. The collective chant of “एक साथ सूर्य नमस्कार योग मुद्रा“ became a symbol of shared energy and intention.
The asana sessions were led by seasoned yoga instructor Likesh Sharma (Gym Instructor), with special contributions from Dr MS Butola (Principal, IMS); Dr Abhinav Pandey (from Department of Community Medicine); Dr Nitin Saxena (Sports Officer); Dr Pawan Kumar Mehrotra (Radiation Oncologist); Dr Kranti Kumar (DSW); Professor Dr Sharat Johri (from Department of Neurology) and many others—who led not just with presence, but with purpose.
