BEYOND WHITE COATS: SRMS INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES PUT ETHICS AT THE HEART OF MEDICINE!
In a world where medicine is advancing fast, SRMS Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS), Bareilly took centre stage through a Workshop (CME) on Medical Ethics & Good Clinical Practice, bringing together PG Batch 2023, Residents from Batch 2024–25, and key academic bodies for a conversation that truly matters.
This wasn’t just another lecture. It was a reality check. From patient safety and informed consent to the real responsibilities behind clinical trials, the sessions went deep into what it actually means to practice ethical medicine today. With insights from experts like Prof Dr Dinesh Badyal (Vice Principal, Director, CMCL- FAIMER Institute, National Convener, NIMC- Advance Course Convener, NMC Nodal Center), and Prof Dr RK Dixit (HOD, Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics, KGMU Lucknow as well as co-convenor of ACME and coordinator of Masters in Health Professional Education), students explored everything from GCP guidelines and ethics committees to privacy, pediatric research, and regulatory frameworks. Discussions around NDCT Rules 2019, SAE Reporting, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Documentation, National Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical Research involving children by ICMR (2017) were fruitful, where honest conversations and clarity of thought said it all.
